Prohibited & Restricted Items

Items that are illegal to possess, sell, purchase, import or export in the seller's or buyer's country cannot be listed on MyCollection.

Sellers are responsible for understanding any laws that apply to their item before creating a listing.

MyCollection does not allow the sale of firearms, ammunition, explosives or other weapons that are prohibited or regulated for sale through the platform.

Certain historical or military collectibles may also be restricted depending on their nature and applicable law. An item's age or collectable status does not automatically make it acceptable for sale.

Items made from or containing protected animal or plant species may not be listed where their sale is prohibited or requires documentation that the seller cannot provide.

This may include certain ivory, tortoiseshell, coral, taxidermy, animal products, fossils or other protected natural specimens.

Human remains, human body parts and items whose sale would be unlawful or inappropriate because of their cultural, archaeological or historical significance are prohibited.

MyCollection may remove listings involving culturally sensitive objects where there are legitimate concerns about ownership, export, removal or sale.

Stolen property must never be listed on MyCollection.

Sellers must have the legal right to sell every item they list. Items reasonably suspected of being stolen, looted, illegally excavated or otherwise unlawfully obtained may be removed while the matter is investigated.

Counterfeit items cannot be sold as genuine collectibles.

This includes fake branded goods, forged memorabilia, counterfeit currency sold deceptively, fake autographs, unauthorised reproductions presented as originals and other items intended to mislead buyers about authenticity.

Reproductions may only be listed where they are lawful and where the listing makes it completely clear that the item is a reproduction.

Items containing dangerous, explosive, toxic, radioactive or otherwise hazardous materials may not be listed where they could create a safety risk or cannot legally be transported. This restriction applies even where the object itself may otherwise be considered collectable.

Some collectibles may be legal to own but subject to restrictions on their sale, transportation, import or export.

Sellers are responsible for obtaining any licence, permit, certificate or other documentation legally required for their item. MyCollection may request supporting documentation or remove a listing where its legality cannot reasonably be established.

Sellers must accurately describe what they are selling.

Listings must not deliberately misrepresent an item's authenticity, age, edition, condition, origin, provenance or other important characteristics. Photographs should show the actual item being sold unless the listing clearly states otherwise.

MyCollection may remove or restrict a listing where we reasonably believe that it breaches these rules, applicable law or another MyCollection marketplace policy.

Serious or repeated violations may result in restrictions being placed on the seller's account or selling privileges.

If you believe an item breaches these rules, you can report the listing directly from the item page using the Report listing option. Reports are sent to our moderation team for review.

When you report a listing, you can choose from the following reasons:

• Illegal or prohibited item
• Suspected counterfeit
• Suspected stolen property
• Misleading description
• Dangerous item
• Intellectual property concern
• Other

We do not automatically remove an item simply because it has been reported. Every report enters our moderation workflow and is reviewed before any action is taken.
