Who is covered
Buyer Protection applies to eligible purchases completed through MyCollection.
Buyers must complete their transaction through MyCollection for the transaction to be eligible for MyCollection's marketplace protection process.
Private transactions arranged outside MyCollection are not MyCollection marketplace transactions and cannot be handled through MyCollection Buyer Protection.
What is covered
Buyer Protection may apply to eligible orders in the following situations:

- ·The item is significantly not as described
- ·An item sold as genuine is reasonably suspected of being counterfeit
- ·The item arrives with significant undisclosed damage
- ·Important parts represented as included are missing
- ·The wrong item is received
Minor differences, normal signs of age clearly visible in photographs or matters accurately disclosed in the listing should not automatically qualify.
The detailed rules for each type of problem, including the evidence required, how returns are handled and how refunds are issued, are set out in the Returns & Refunds policy.

Buyers can provide an explanation and supporting photographs.
Give the seller an opportunity to respond
Sellers are notified when a problem is reported and are given an opportunity to respond.

How cases are reviewed
Where a problem cannot be resolved directly, MyCollection may review the transaction. Relevant evidence can include the listing description and photographs, messages between buyer and seller, tracking and proof of postage, buyer photographs of the item and packaging, and authentication or grading information.
A buyer stating that an item is counterfeit must not automatically result in a refund without appropriate review. MyCollection may request certificates, provenance information or other relevant evidence before reaching a decision.
MyCollection does not guarantee that every reported problem will result in a refund.
Possible outcomes
Depending on the circumstances, an eligible case may result in:
- ·No further action
- ·Return of the item
- ·Full refund
- ·Partial refund where appropriate and agreed
- ·Another resolution agreed between buyer and seller
Where a return is required, the process, return postage responsibilities and refund timings are set out in the Returns & Refunds policy.
