Marketplace policy

Marketplace Rules

These Marketplace Rules govern how all members buy, sell and interact on MyCollection. They sit alongside the Seller Rules, the Prohibited & Restricted Items policy and the Buyer Protection policy. Together they set the standards that keep MyCollection a safe and trusted place for collectors.

The basic rule

Be honest, be respectful, keep transactions on the platform and follow the rules that apply to your role as a buyer or a seller.

How MyCollection works

MyCollection is a specialist social marketplace for collectors. Members can display their collections, discover other collectors, follow collections they enjoy, wishlist items they admire and buy and sell genuine collectibles within a single community.

Buying and selling on MyCollection takes place through the platform's own checkout and payment system. When an item sells, MyCollection charges the seller a 6% platform commission. The remaining sale proceeds, less any applicable payment-processing costs, are paid to the seller.

MyCollection provides the marketplace, the payment infrastructure and moderation tools. It is not the seller of any collectible listed by a member and is not a party to the contract between a buyer and a seller.

02

Who can use MyCollection

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts to buy or sell on MyCollection.

You must provide accurate information when registering your account, including your real name and contact details. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your account.

Each person may hold only one personal account. Accounts created to evade a restriction, ban or enforcement action will be removed. Accounts must not be transferred or sold to another person.

03

General conduct

All members are expected to treat one another with respect and honesty.

The following is not permitted on MyCollection:

  • ·harassment, threats or abusive messages
  • ·hate speech or discrimination
  • ·spam or unsolicited advertising
  • ·misleading or deceptive behaviour
  • ·impersonating another person or member
  • ·attempting to access another member's account
  • ·collecting personal data from other members
  • ·using the platform for any unlawful purpose

MyCollection may remove content, restrict features or suspend accounts where conduct breaches these Marketplace Rules or any other MyCollection policy.

04

Listing on MyCollection

Only genuine collectibles may be listed for sale. Listings must accurately describe the item, including its condition, authenticity, age, edition and any other characteristic that could affect a buyer's decision.

Sellers must have the right to sell every item they list and must comply with the separate Prohibited & Restricted Items policy. Detailed seller obligations, including verification, photographs, dispatch and shipping, are set out in the Seller Rules.

Listings that misrepresent an item, that are designed to mislead buyers or that breach any MyCollection policy may be removed. Sellers must not create duplicate listings for the same item in a way that manipulates search results or search rankings.

05

Buying through MyCollection

When you buy an item on MyCollection, payment is processed through the platform's secure checkout. You commit to paying the agreed price, including any shipping charges shown at checkout.

Buyers must provide accurate delivery information at checkout and must not provide false or incomplete address details. Buyers are responsible for ensuring that the item can legally be imported into their country where applicable.

Buyers must not place orders or make offers they do not intend to complete. Placing an order creates an obligation to pay. Unpaid orders may be cancelled by the seller and may affect the buyer's standing on MyCollection.

06

Offers and negotiation

Where a seller has enabled offers on a listing, buyers may make an offer below the asking price. Sellers may accept, decline or make a counter offer.

An accepted offer is a commitment to proceed with the transaction at the agreed price. Once an offer is accepted, the buyer is expected to complete payment promptly and the seller is expected to proceed with the sale.

Offers and counter offers must be made in good faith. Submitting offers with no intention of completing a purchase, or making offers purely to disrupt a listing, is not permitted.

07

The 6% commission

MyCollection charges sellers a 6% platform commission on the item price of every completed sale. The commission is calculated automatically and is shown to the seller before a listing goes live and again in the order breakdown after a sale.

Shipping charges are passed through to the seller in full and are not subject to the MyCollection commission. Payment-processing costs, where applicable, are separate from the MyCollection commission and may vary depending on payment method, country and provider pricing.

Sellers must not attempt to avoid the commission by moving a transaction discovered through MyCollection outside the platform. Doing so is a breach of these Marketplace Rules and may result in selling restrictions.

08

Shipping and delivery

Sellers set the shipping methods and charges for their listings. Buyers see the applicable shipping cost before completing checkout.

Sellers are expected to dispatch paid orders within the timeframe stated on the listing and to provide tracking information where available. Buyers are expected to provide an accurate delivery address and to collect or receive the item when it arrives.

If an item does not arrive, arrives damaged or does not match its description, the buyer may open a dispute through MyCollection. Detailed seller shipping obligations are set out in the Seller Rules.

09

Reviews and reputation

After an eligible transaction, buyers and sellers may leave a review for one another. Reviews help build trust across the community and should be honest, fair and based on the actual transaction.

Members must not post reviews that are false, misleading or retaliatory. Sellers must not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews, and buyers must not threaten negative reviews to obtain a benefit they are not otherwise entitled to.

MyCollection may remove reviews that breach these rules. Reviews must not contain personal contact details, offensive language or content unrelated to the transaction.

10

Keeping transactions on MyCollection

All payments for items discovered and sold through MyCollection must be completed using the platform's checkout. Members must not use MyCollection listings, offers or messaging to move a sale outside the platform in order to avoid the 6% commission or MyCollection's transaction protections.

Completing a transaction outside MyCollection means the buyer loses the protections built into the platform checkout, the seller loses access to the order and payout system, and neither party has a record of the transaction within MyCollection.

Repeated attempts to take transactions off-platform may result in restrictions on listings, offers, messaging or account access.

11

Disputes and resolution

If a problem arises with a transaction, buyers and sellers should first try to resolve it through MyCollection's messaging system. Keeping communication on the platform creates a record that can be reviewed if the matter escalates.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved between the parties, MyCollection provides a moderation process. A member may open a dispute through the order page. MyCollection may request evidence from both parties, including listing details, photographs, tracking information and messages.

Disputes are assessed on the available evidence and are not automatically decided in favour of either party. The outcome may include a refund, partial refund, release of seller proceeds or no further action.

12

MyCollection's role

MyCollection provides the marketplace through which collectors can buy and sell. MyCollection is not the seller of any item listed by a member and is not a party to the contract of sale between a buyer and a seller.

MyCollection facilitates payment processing through its payment provider, provides moderation and dispute tools and sets the policies that govern the marketplace. MyCollection does not take ownership of any collectible and does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing.

Where MyCollection steps in to resolve a dispute, remove a listing or restrict an account, it does so to uphold these Marketplace Rules and protect the community, not as a party to the underlying transaction.

13

Enforcement

MyCollection may take action where a member breaches these Marketplace Rules or any other MyCollection policy. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the breach, action may include:

  • ·removing a listing
  • ·removing content or a review
  • ·restricting offers or messaging
  • ·restricting selling privileges
  • ·requiring additional verification
  • ·temporarily suspending an account
  • ·permanently suspending an account
  • ·reporting unlawful activity to authorities

Transaction and financial records are retained even where an account is restricted or suspended. MyCollection reserves the right to refuse service to any person whose conduct is inconsistent with these rules.

14

Changes to these rules

MyCollection may update these Marketplace Rules from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, the law or community standards. Where significant changes are made, MyCollection will aim to notify members through the platform or by email.

Continued use of MyCollection after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated rules. Members who do not agree to the updated rules should stop using the marketplace and may close their account.
